SW Backcountry | Ski & Splitboard Touring in SW Hokkaido

395,000Yen / person based on a group of 5 guests (includes 10% consumption tax)

Highlights: Remote backcountry skiing in the snowiest region of Hokkaido

Southwest Hokkaido is home to the heaviest and most consistent snowfalls on the island so its no surprise that Niseko is extremely popular for destination ski travellers. The good news is that most of these visitors focus their attention at Niseko United and the other nearby major resorts but not far away there are some incredible backcountry touring areas receiving the same great snow without the crowds.

This trip starts in Niseko so we can settle in and have the opportunity to ski classic backcountry zones such as Mount Yotei or Shiribetsu before we head off to stay and tour from traditional onsen ryokan`s. This trip does have several hotel changes but driving times are relatively short leaving more time to relax in the onsen and enjoy the home cooked meals provided by at our accommodations.

Avalanche safety kit and ski touring or splitboarding equipment is required for all multi-day trips. Rental available with a 20% discount available to all Rising Sun guided tour guests – more info here.
